Sega Corp. has developed and begun test-marketing a software tool that automatically adjusts the facial expressions of animated characters to match the lines as spoken by the voice actor.
The Magical V Engine works with the main?computer graphics program. It has a set of movements for the mouth, eyebrows and eyes for each vowel sound, and it matches the movements of these parts of the face with the timing of the vowels as it analyzes a recording of the spoken lines.
